Toilet Design Restaurant

Can you imagine yourself eating on the toilet bowl?Well at this restaurant,everything inside it was decorated like a toilet.The seat was design like a toilet seat and most of food was served in a toilet bowl design.Some might can't accept this kind of restaurant but i think it kind of cool and unique. I do admire this concept restaurant and how they got a fun way to make the restaurant different than others.                                                                                                                          

The T-Bowl (Toilet Bowl) Restaurant was established on 18th Feb 2008 at3rd floor of QueensBay Mall. The restaurant was originated by the founder, Samuel while he was sitting on a toilet bowl one day. All of a sudden he has an idea of eating while sitting in the toilet bowl just as in the movie directed by Anthony Wong a few years ago. Furthermore, he would like to open a special concept restaurant in Penang, hence inspired him to fuse this concept into the food and beverage industries. This restaurant has designed base on the bathroom concept; where the toilet bowl used as seat, basin as dining table, mini toilet bowls as food bowl. Beside that, this restaurant has 3 cute and meaningful main theme characters call the Tbros (Toilet Brothers) such as the toilet bowl, stool and shower. There are varieties of food here range from Japan, Korean, Western, Hong Kong till oriental style. The restaurant directors plan to franchise their business to Kuala Lumpur and other states in Malaysia in the near future.http://www.t-bowl.com/

Monument Sign

What is monument sign?Monument sign is a permanent signs where the entire bottom of the sign is affixed to the ground, not to a building.In class we been given a task to take a picture of a building around Cyberjaya or Putrajaya.We need to choose a spot where can we place a monument sign because we have to design one.I choose a building at Putrajaya and below is the picture where i want to place the monument.

Then i do the monument design using Adobe Illustrator for the building and here is it

Form and Function

What is form?

In print design, form is both the overall look and feel of the page as well as the shape and look of the individual components - the typefaces, the graphic elements, the texture of the paper.Form is also the format whether the piece is a poster, a tri-fold brochure, a saddle-stitched booklet, or a self-mailer newsletter.-about.com

What is function?

For designers, function is the practical, getting down to business part of the process of design and desktop publishing. Function is the purpose of the piece whether it is to sell, to inform or educate, to impress, or to entertain. It includes the copywriting message, the audience, and the cost of getting the project printed.-about.com

There are two principle between these two words.There are 'Form follow Function' and 'Function follow Form'.
So started with the meaning of 'Form follow Function',what exactly it is?


According to wikipedia,Form follows function is a principle associated with  modern architecture and industrial design in the 20th century. The principle is that the shape of a building or object should be primarily based upon its intended function or purpose.
To a simple meaning,the form of something like a gadget must have it purposes.There must be a reason why we want to created the shape of an object like why it round or rectangle.Ity must have it own purposes why the designer want it to be shape like he wanted.

for example,people created chair with various kind like big or small,tall or short.

The purposes of big chair is for adult and the small chair is for kids.

Same to all object,there must be a function why something was created in different shape.Form without function is just a pretty piece of paper.

What is function follow form?

Function follow form is a reverse processes in design.When the function follow form,its mean that it is the way of the designer just being creative by created something already have the function but making it more useful and can attract more people.For example,function is deciding that a poster plastered around town would be the best way to inform the general public about a band's upcoming club performance. Function is specifiying how much the band can spend on that poster. Form is choosing the size, colors, fonts, and images based on the function and arranging the text and graphics so that the poster attracts attention and looks good.

Lets Go Green!!

Whether we mean to do damage or not, it is a fact that many of the things we do and the products we use affect the environment.So to save the environment,many country already launched go green campaign.The  purpose of this campaign was held to encourage people protect the environment.In order to attract people to support the campaign,lots of ads and design are being produced.

Concept Store

A concept store is a retail theme. 
This offer for sale a set of products whose range is defined, rather than by product type, by a single thematic universe, such as design, luxury, sports, decoration, brand, etc.. 
Single brand stores can enhance brand identity. The concept store may also include a restore point, related to the theme of the place. 



This week we been given a task to go to any shopping complex and find a concept store.We have to write about the store so i went to Sunway Pyramid Mall to find a subject to write.There are so many concept store and it hard to decide which one.Suddenly my eyes kind of attracted to the store which the interior design look so beautiful.Its called Fullhouse Lifestyle Store & Cafe.

It was design and decorated like in the house so people will be feeling like at home while enjoying their meals.

Fullhouse is not your average café or retail outlet.  

Almost everything under the roof at Fullhouse is for sale, from clothes and fashion accessories to gifts and decorative items.
The name Fullhouse really suit to this concept store which give us a feeling like home.It is decorated beautifully and make us enjoy having a meal with nice decoration around us..Not just we can having a meal,we also can shopping in this store.There a lot of nice and unique item can be found here

Environmental Design intro

1st day in class make me excited because i still don't know what i will learn in Environmental Design subject.Well we been given a schedule and briefing about our lecture.Environmental Design subject is developed to serve advertising with on emphasis information and persuasion rich environment.We will be learn to design about 3 dimensional media in our environment such as trade shows,exhibitions,showrooms,window displays,playgrounds,petrol station,bus stand,train station,display booths,information kiosk,vending machines and anything that can be used and designed to be use as advertising media.
